Trailer Bulletin: Pathfinder
The year is (approximately) 1,000, and a bunch of Vikings and Native Americans are about to do some serious battle. The gritty-looking "Pathfinder" adventure flick comes courtesy of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" director Marcus Nispel, and you can check out the trailer right here.
"A thousand years in the past, a young Viking boy is accidentally left behind during a skirmish between the Vikings and Native Americans. The Native Americans raise the boy as their own, but when their village is wiped out from a Viking raid, the adopted Viking becomes his people's savior in battling the Norsemen."
"Pathfinder," starring Karl Urban, Clancy Brown, Nathaniel Arcand, and Moon Bloodgood, opens September 8th.

on May 03 2006 09:13 AM Whack! Nice trailer. This looks like it could be a good movie. And who doesn't like Eomer? Nobody, that's who. Everyone loves Karl Urban. What's funny is there was a show on TV (maybe the Discovery Channel) about this exact same premis -- about when the Vikings landed in North America and met the Native Americans. According to the TV show, the Vikings were good friends with the Native Americans. They traded and were on very good terms with each other until there was a missunderstanding. It seems as though the Native Americans became upset at the Vikings after the Vikings gave them milk. See, the Native Americans didn't normally drink milk (in this case, goats milk), and therefore it made them sick. They thought the Vikings were trying to poison them, when in fact the Vikings were just trying to share one of their favorite drinks. (Reply to this) |
![]() on May 03 2006 05:52 PM In reply to this comment (#834779) At WonderCon, Marcus Nispel actually mentioned how he heard about the discovery of actual Viking-Native American interaction after the project began, and it gave him a huge sense of relief -- like now, Pathfinder is vindicated as a story. I think the action could be really cool...and I'm not exactly an action girl. (Reply to this) |
