The Brute is a typically fast and furious British "exploitation" film directed by an expert in that field, Gerry O'Hara. Model Sarah Douglas is browbeaten (and beaten in other ways) by her behemoth of a husband. Drastic measures seem to be called for, but to whom can Sarah turn? This slightly unsavory melodrama is unusually well cast, with Julian Glover and Peter Bull prominent among the supporting actors.
