This horror film is an updated remake of the 1919 classic tale of horror and domination. This time a deeply troubled woman must go to a spooky, ramshackle old manse after her car breaks down. The owner takes her in and then subjects her to numerous humiliating torments. Just before she is to die, the woman awakens from the nightmare and then remembers that she is in a mental hospital and that the sadistic host in her dream is really her doctor. Noted author Robert Bloch penned the script. ~

It's very creepy...
A little slow (and by that I mean talky) but what 60's psycho movie isn't? The finales are unfailingly worth sitting through sometimes draggy first and second acts for though. Head's up: if you've seen the original Caligari the ending may be slightly telegraphed for you... but the rest of the movie is so successfully
December 16, 2011Pretty boring film with a lot of dialog that seems to get in the way of this story, but the twist at the end 'kind of' works -- yet is not to difficult to figure it out before the ending. This movie is a real test of your ability to not hit the 'fast forward' button.
