What's the point of it?

I have read countless reviews, but no one has told me what the point of the movie is. Is this just another kids movie about bucking the system? Rebelling against "the establishment?" If so, no thanks. I've had enough of that. What exactly is the "heartwarming lesson?" No one has said it yet!
