Movie Info

This film is about "The Internationale," the working-class anthem written by Eugene Pottier in the late 19th century. Though championed by the Soviet Union in the early 20th century, the song has been sung in many troubled settings. Students even chanted it at the Tiananmen Square uprising in 1989. Singer/songwriter Pete Seeger and others discuss why they think the song continues to appeal to so many people fighting both cultural and military battles today.
