Movie Info

Academy Award winner Richard Dreyfuss and Emmy winner Blythe Danner headline director Daniel Adams' comic romance about a curmudgeonly lighthouse keeper who's sworn off women. Cape Cod: 1912. Shortly after a mysterious stranger washes ashore with no memory of how he got there, a pair of women arrive to spend the summer at a nearby cottage, their mere presence turning the lives of both men topsy-turvy. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

While it's a feature of commendable morality and casting accomplishment, the filmmaker once again submits a bloodless viewing experience slavish to retro dramatic ambiance, while lacking the directorial chops required to keep it all awake.

Audience Reviews for The Lightkeepers

Boy. I never thought that Richard Dreyfuss could ruin a movie, but this one he did. He was absolutely the wrong person for this part. His acting abilitles were terrible, over-the-top, and laughable. The surrounding cast was pretty good, however, and the story was nice. Too bad....
