a fantastic anime containing the twist of the hitman-action genre. again, its storytelling crafts such a unique style and premise that you feel as if you are watching an actual film. its sense of character, style and animation is flawless. one of the five best animes ever made.

The scary thing is this 80's anime has some of the oddest / best camera angles I have ever seen. Live action OR anime.

Golgo 13 is everyting Bond used to be, but a lot better. This is without a doubt the greatest anime movie ever made. Seriously, the characters are great, with great development. Golgo 13 is by far the best character in the movie. The story is one of the greatest I've seen, with many twist and turns, including the one in the end, which I won't spoil. The presentation is great, with very catchy music in the style of many spy movies including Bond, coupled with the violent, bloody action scenes which bolster the movie greatly. Overall, it's one of the greatest movies ever made, and if you haven't seen it, I recommend you go see it.

More violent than some other anime movies I have seen, and a plot full of surprising and geniunely fantastic twists, this movie is one of the best anime movies I've ever seen.

This was a very interesting anime based on a comic book.
A hitman is being hunted down by the father of someone who Golgo killed.
He sends the FBI, CIA and trained killers after Golgo while he beds woman after woman and tries to survive.
Cool killers like Snake and Gold & Silver make it a little more than a basic anime.
A huge amount of nudity for an anime as well.
The use of the CGI helicopters was goofy but the artwork was excellent.

This is one that has to be seen. It's dark it's tough. This film is one of a kind and shows the intensity that is the hallmark of Anime.

This film has so much style and swag. I love it. Some really awesome ideas visually. But thats where the artistry stops I'd say. Script wise this is very A-B-C. 3 word sentences are about as deep is this one gets. And a few times there was not dialogue at all. One scene involves a pretty snakey individual grabbing a woman inappropriately and while surprised she does make a peep, hits him and runs off into the distance. No a scream, curse or otherwise. But thats not why you watch anime like this! This is a Japanese masterpiece.

Lots of Critics compare this Animas character to James Bond. Some characteristics are similar, mostly his attraction to woman. Unlike James Bond, Golgo is a myth, his info doesn't exist anywhere in the world and it is also mentioned that he is immortal in a way.

Golgo, Japanese professional assassin, gets one job in United States. After positive finishing of the job, he was hunted by a lot of enemies, later found out, sent by father of first victim, owner of Dawson enterprise (Dawson himslef).

Cold head, fearless and harmless Golgo, starts to be concern, but, after a while, expression that he is afraid for the first time turns out that he is only concerned about people that surrounds him, who mostly, end up dead. However, this is not about revenge, and here is not very clear where is the line where Golgo stops being professional, but do job in his own interest, because he starts hunting Dawson without being engaged before.

Movie also shows very good typical reactions of sterotipe of monopolists, and relations with their children, like weakness of others and fear to stand up against 'em. But, it is just secondary image of this plot.

Nothing original in this story makes this movie very very authentic.

I found always interesting to watch characters with high reputation, and how they manage to stay at the top, which I find quite harder then getting there.

RECOMMENDATION!

Has enough plot to sustain three longer movies, action to sustain four, and animated sex to fill an anime convention booth. Between the blood and lust are some uncommonly well-composed shots, but also one (short) atrocity of a CGI sequence. Long live the Duke.

Excellent action packed anime of a professional hitman Duke better known as Golgo 13 who finds himself being attacked from all angles as the CIA, the US Army and a rich tycoon who has hired mercenaries all wanting him dead. Cool and fast paced storyline with great characters and plenty of shootouts and explosions. This is an anime movie that should not be missed.

Not much in the plot, the characters were rather iffy and seemed to focus on the nudity a bit too much. May as well have been a late night skinomax showing..

A highly style-ized adaptation of the hit manga. Often classy, borders between intellectual and disturbing; One of the first fims to utilize computer animation (for about 2 minutes at the end) While extremely violent, and containing some nudity(alot actually), This is truly a masterpiece of animation, utilizing a highly cerebral storylne, This film Follows Proffessional Hitman, Duke Togo A.K.A. Golgo 13, As A Rich Oil Baron tries everything in his power to avenge the death of his son(Who was killed by Golgo). Culminating in an action-packed Battle between Golgo and Two other Mercenaries. The shocking Twist ending alone Makes this film worth watching; not to mention stunning visuals, and a jazzy soundtrack, I say See It.

My favorite of the Golgo 13 films alot more sleazy then the live action one as well as more artistic. Has one of the most badass antagonists of all time
