In this crime drama a San Francisco gangster must flee after he kills the member of a rival gang, and cannot find his girl friend, whom he needs to establish an alibi. He ends up hiding on a tiny fishing boat. Not long after they set sail, he is discovered by the captain and his young son who do not condemn him for his actions; instead they set him to work. As he toils, he comes to appreciate the value of hard work. Unfortunately, back on the mainland, a determined detective uses the gangster's girl to set a trap for him. In the end, the gangster gives up his own life to save the little boy. The story is adapted from a novel by Ernest K. Gann.more
