Martin Freeman, Corey Johnson and Velibor Topic helm the unabashedly rude, gross-out crime comedy The All Together. As the story opens, successful television producer Chris Ashworth (Freeman) leaves his home to head off to work, and puts his boarder, the Bosnian immigrant Bob (Topic), in charge of showing the home to real estate appraisers. An eccentric taxidermist who makes his living from stuffed models of copulating animals, Bob is also untrustworthy and lazy; he nonetheless consents to
Chris's request, which frees up Chris for the rest of the day and provides a much needed relief from stress. Meanwhile, in another part of town, the thug Dennis Earle (Danny Dyer) chauffeurs an American criminal associate, Mr. Gaspardi (Corey Johnson) to the airport, when Gaspardi grows violently ill - the result of curry eaten the night before - and declares that he must find a toilet in which to vomit. The two decide to find a bathroom in a nearby house, and happen upon Chris's house. [center]Bob's animal art...Not to everyones taste?[/center][center][/center]This extremely low budget comedy works well at the beginning, but the terrible filmography and poor character development (apart from Bob) starts to show the cracks in the feature. For starters the whole thing could easily pass (and work
better) as a British TV sitcom. It has all the elements (dry wit humour etc) that it needs, yet it hopelessely descends into a film where the writers seem to give up half way through. It spends so much time creating a scene and when it all starts to pull together it really doesn't work. A few chuckles are to be had here and there but nothing memorable or unique that a comedy film needs these days to really stand out.[center]Rated (15)[/center][center]5.1/10[/center]
