All due respect to Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire, but this is QUITE A BIT better than any of the other Spider-Man films. Garfield and Stone are terrific.
Great review, in my opinion Spider-man 2 still the best though.

Haven't seen it yet, but based on reviews and trailers my expectations are that it won't be as good as Spider-Man 2 (one of my favorite comic book adaptions)but i could see it being slightly better than the first Spider-Man. Let's just hope it's better Spider Man 3 at least, lol.

I love Spider-man 1 and 2, I saw this one and really liked, but Spider-man 2 still my favorite comicbook movie. Maybe it's not the best, but still my favorite.

Spiderman 2 had alot of flaws in my opinion...it was an entertaining movie, but no way in hell can doc survive a blow to the face from spiderman. that's like Superman punching you upside the head. your head would explode!

Spidey can and has hit Ock in the jaw before, he just pulls his punches so he doesn't kill him. Same way random thugs survive his beatdowns.
What bothered ME was how utterly they changed Octavius into essentially the Curt Connors archetype, from arrogant elitist bastard to nice guy scientist trying to better mankind. That and, well... "It Was The Arms! THE ARMS!!!" lol

You clearly weren't paying attention while watching Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2. Doc Ock was physically enhanced by the nanomachines... they tell that during the movie.

I guess i can see your point on Spider-Man 2, but it is a superhero movie about a dude that cast webs, so i certainly don't let those things bother me and consider them flaws. Spider-Man 2 was so great do to such a great script. It had an actual great story, development and not just all action. The Dark Knight definitely surpassed it and probably even Batman Begins, but i still love it and think it's definitely one of the greatest superhero movies out there.

This review is a little stupid. He is saying that this movie is as good as the dark knight, is he crazy? sure it was fun but for me it was like a disney spiderman film. And gwen and peter had a campy relationship. Calling it a better film than the previews films is also a matter of taste an he doesn't have a great one.

This would be what? Quite a bit better?
So bad cheap cinematography, bad choreography, bad action scenes, bad CGI, a disjointed plot, bad editing, subpar acting would be better because Sony managers tell you so,uh? Really?
This reboot is just a shame. And too bad too many people are going to drink the kool-aid that Sony marketing machine is selling them.

Amusing. Because, see, I found the Raimi films to have some frankly bad cinematography, a HORRID romance, and some really lousy over the top acting. Not to mention the eternally digital Spider.
But nice to know that you're flipping out over a positive review to the point that the accusations of being bought off practically spewed out.
