With great stories come great responsibilities. This one doesn't measure up.
Really? There's less than one joke about wrestler's husband giving bonesaw his suit??? It's really hard to believe...especially when one "carjacker" tv spot had more humour than entire Raimi's trilogy. Talking about classic lines in the original Amazing Spiderman first issue Uncle Ben never said that with great power comes great responsibilities...it was only like "moral" at the end of the issue.

I counted a total of three jokes in the first Spider-Man film. From Spider-Man at least. Hell, Jameson was forced to carry the humor in those movies and he's supposed to be more than just a comic foil to the protagonist.
Jul 2 - 01:54 PM
I don't know man. When I'm reading the comics, it's rare that I laugh out loud at anything Peter says. He's not a comedian. Sure, he talks smack when he's beating up baddies, but not to comedic effect..... but maybe we just have different senses of humor.
Jul 2 - 03:35 PM
I laugh hysterically half the time.
Jul 2 - 05:06 PM
you know what
i got tired of writing fully agree what did guy said about the movie
Jul 2 - 01:31 PM
Jeremy Jahns is awesome. That is all.
Jul 2 - 03:34 PM
Boy, that guys schtic got tired way before his video ended.
He had some good points. I too dislike when filmakers take filmgoers intelligence for granted. But I have to disagree, the fact that this movie is a remake does have to be taken into consideration.
Jul 2 - 03:44 PM
HOW? It's based on the smae source material. Unless they deviate HEAVILY from it, it will have similarities, and that's still not taking into consideration whether or not it's a good movie. Most people seem to like it except... it's a reboot, so they dock points. It's ridiculous.
Jul 2 - 05:09 PM
I don't understand the whole problem with a reboot.
I watch the same movie over and over, sometimes I watch the same movie twice in a row just because it was that good.
Why should I care if some directors let's me experience the same story, just with different actors, scripts, and environments?
But the most important thing (and I don't even read the comics) is that this reboot is fixing some of the major problems about the Raimi trilogy; organic webshooters, non-headstrong M.J. (better yet, replacing her with Gwen Stacy as Peter's first love), non-sarcastic Spidey, non-cocky Pete after he gains spidey powers.
Maybe this is because of my love for the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon.

2.5/4 is like 62/100, isn't this fresh?
Jul 2 - 01:36 PM
Apparently score doesn't really matter if the reviewer says that it's rotten then it's rotten...IMO RT should give rules like 6-10 is fresh. 1-5 is rotten.
Jul 2 - 01:51 PM
Well, then people would just rate it lower lol
Jul 2 - 01:53 PM
This i agree with. In one of the other negative reviews the writer said rt guidelines would be a c- if you were giving in it a letter grade. But in all honesty if 2.5 is fresh they would probably drop it to a 2
Jul 2 - 02:01 PM
I don't understand that, if it's rotten, why give 2.5/4? This is a "good" grade. If you didn't like it give it 2 or less.
Jul 2 - 02:48 PM
This guy again, Marc Webb isn't Sam Raimi and will never make a better Spider man movie, ya done son.
Jul 2 - 03:12 PM
You do realize that unless you're a time traveler you don't know that?
Jul 2 - 03:14 PM
You're funny!!! Still looking at Spider-man 3 is more likely that Webb will never do worse Spider-man movie than Raimi.
Jul 2 - 03:18 PM
Hey, Eric. Lose some weight. Mad yet?
Jul 2 - 07:54 PM
I heard you don't measure up either, Mr. Critic.
Jul 2 - 02:26 PM
Lol wut...funny thing about Spider man 3 is it's 63%, The Amazing Spider man isn't even out yet and is at 77% which won't includer more aggregate reviews, and you're also clearly missing 1 and 2 which are at 89% and 93% respectively, so what's that strike 3 for you? As for being a time traveler, I see reviews of his current work, it's deductive reasoning not time travel. Amazing Spider man=even the BEST reviews criticize it for being too similar to Raimi's.
Jul 2 - 03:28 PM
Yea.. because it's the origin story.
Jul 2 - 05:43 PM
Just about everyone in these comments I've read have poured out their opinions that the critics shouldn't be so harsh to give the movie a rotten review JUST because it's a reboot. They're asking for fairplay. I also am having a hard time understanding why you, sir, feel the uttermost desire to call us "fanboys". YOU'RE the fanboy, glorifying Raimi as if you're blessed with a higher power and think you have the right to act that way. We all see your picture, are you a child? We just want THIS movie to be liked too because it really is a GREAT movie, (I have seen it by the way) so please get off your high horse and grow up. And please, Eric, LOSE SOME WEIGHT.
Jul 2 - 08:01 PM
Lol THAT's your comeback to this guy? Ultra pathetic to the max, try some logic instead of attacking some dude's physique.
1)it's a reboot, which is why it will be compared to the original, and a movie that a critic has seen versus a movie a FANBOY(I'm sure that's why he used it)hasn't seen, what fairplay are you failing to see? Do I need to draw you a map or make a book with popup pictures so you'll get it?
2)You're an idiot.
3)fuck you I'm Spider-Man.
Jul 2 - 09:43 PM
"He creates a lab in the city's sewer system, where there is apparently an abundant supply of electricity". In his glowing review of spiderman2, Colin had no problem with the location/creation of Doc Ock's second fusion reactor: "In action blowouts staged by Raimi with huge visual flair, he clashes with Doc Ock on a dizzying clock tower, in a runaway elevated train, and on the rotting pier of an abandoned wharf."
Jul 2 - 05:30 PM
In my opinion this movie is too good.
Jul 3 - 07:11 AM
Yeah, that soundtrack was weak. I'm surprised I'm not hearing more about how weak that soundtrack was. Among other problems.
