Movie Info

An early effort from the production company that would later become American-International pictures, Beast with a Million Eyes takes place on a dude ranch in the American southwest. An alien spaceship passes over the ranch, and then the fun begins. Dogs, chickens, and even cows turn against the humans, killing anyone in their path. The instigator of this animal revolt is a demon-like alien (played by a rubber finger puppet), who is determined to destroy mankind on behalf of the million-eyed beast of title. Beast with a Million Eyes is a homemade bomb, utterly lacking in entertainment value or professionalism. It also made a lot of money, thanks to an energetic (if wildly misleading) ad campaign.more

Audience Reviews for The Beast with a Million Eyes

I caught most of this on TV today, it was pretty bad, especially the story and actors. The whole alien mind control thing didn't seem to be doing much in the story, or if it did, I didn't notice. Ending is bad too. Plus, the high frequency noise is really annoying.

Not a Bad film, Early exploration into Mind Control, they had it pretty close in 1955 and I bet they didn't know it, High Freq tone and all. It a good Creature Feature Film Fest Film. Mine came in MGM Midnight Movie Double Feature. Best Buy had a slew of these Double Feature For Sale on there web site 3 weeks before Halloween, keep a eye out for specials there. Its worth the buy.

When a movie begins with the antagonist telling you what is happening and why instead of letting the movie show you these things, you know the budget was small and your expectations are automatically lowered. Even so, this is substandard B-movie fare. The "beast" is laughable and doesn't have a million eyes (it gets the adage by adding up all the eyes of the minds of the beings it controls), and the acting is hopelessly devoid of emotion. Add to this a high frequency noise emitting from the "beast's" spaceship and you get an experience you'll only want to enjoy once.
