Spring Breakers Part 2...?

Did we really need another exploitation film about teenage girls committing crimes for pleasure and excitement? Celebrity worship and the desire for minuscule infamy is not properly dissected by showing teenage girls stealing or playing with firearms. I see no point in having two films of this similar subject matter in the same year. I know the Bling Ring and Spring Breakers are attempting to hold a mirror up to current society, but for the most part they just end up pandering to teenagers with the same warped perceptions as the characters in the films.

Couldn't agree more. I actually thought Spring Breakers was relatively good; this was an absolute torturous 90 minutes. Everything and everyone in this movie sucked balls.

I did not miss that. Not every insignificant true story should be made into a film. Even with a true story the director and screenwriter can take the film in many different directions. Based on the trailers this took the route of Spring Breakers in that it exploits entitled teens who seek a rush through committing crimes. It makes it looks glamorous, but is also a cautionary tale at the same time. They look decent, they just don't intrigue me or speak to me personally.

I thought Spring Breakers was bad, but I can't wait for this. Spring Breakers just had delusions of having insight, whereas this will actually depict the fame-obsessed materialistic generation of today. It's also really interesting that this all happened.
