The Book Of Eli is directed by the Hughes Brothers. On this evidence, they've got about as much movie-making talent as the Chuckle Brothers. Their last film was From Hell. Guess what? So is this one.
Nice pun, you should get a pat on the back.

I got to agree with DucNukem on this one, the constant attempts at coming off witty and injecting your "personality" into your review are beyond lame. Chuckle Brothers? Seriously , Chuckle Brothers? Your sticking with that one? You've heard of the concept in the arts about killing your babies right?Another thing, man do you over exaggerate in your review. At one point in the movie does Eli kill unbelievers left right and center? He kills to survive, not because people disagree with his religion. That's a pretty crucial exaggeration your making considering Eli's religion and more to the point his sense of purpose is central to the movies theme. And exactly where is there a baffling amount of product placement? Seriously what movie were you watching? There's a kfc toillette, a psuedo Ipod, and apparently someones rocking puma's which I never even noticed, how is that a baffling amount of product placement? Had Eli been wearing a dirty 30 year old Nike shirt or something that would have been another thing altogether and I might have been annoyed too, but again your exaggerating what actually happens in the movie and in my opinion its unprofessional. Maybe next time try to write an intelligent review without having to show people how smart and witty you think you are.

Boy that's not very fair. The Hughes also directed Menace II Society and were heavily involved in Scratch.

At some point, you have to wonder how long RottenTomatoes will allow critics to say just about anything. Even cruel unjustified tripe.

You are so deserving the right to be wrong. Congrats to you.

Dear Robbie Collin,I was not a huge fan of this movie, however, your are trying way too hard to get your point across. End result: Review is too long and drawn out....oh and the punch lines = not funny. P.S. Always remember, less is more

If you watch carefully, you can see a flash of "This book belongs to Eli" or some such sticker on the front of the holder, so apparently you are mistaken when you write that he came upon it shortly after the apocalypso. What else, if anything, are you wrong about? Did you even SEE the movie? Doubt it.

Try watching the movie again. This time keep your eyes and ears open and mouth shut. Oh, and put your thinking cap on ... if you've got one.

Your review is pathetic, and you failed to understand the obvious. Obviously the only people he killed were ones that were trying to kill him or trying to kill someone innocent. Nobody believed in his religion you idiot because nobody knew what religion was!!!(duh hence the fact that the villain wanted to use it to control everyone),and most of them could not even read anyways. Your way to over the top and most of what you said is irrelevant because your opinion of the movie is based one things that were not even portrayed in the movie....how pathetic of you.
