Critic Review - Newark Star-Ledger

It's twists and turns and nothing else. And fast and furious as it may be, if this is the best this once-smart series has to offer, this is no legacy.

I agree 100% with Stephen's comment. Beginning a little slow; middle full of excitement; and then.... Nothing. I scratched my head.

I very much agree as well....especially about the beginning, it was much too slow.

My sentiments exactly. They could have done so much more with this movie, but it ended up being just a big chase with no real plot for the last hour or so.

I don't agree because your opinion is bias towards the past 3 movies. It was a good movie and to hate on it simply because you can't stand that it's a different type of Bourne movie is ridiculous. It is not Jason Bourne's movie, understand that and see it with your mind clear instead of a complete comparison of the past movies. He didn't lose his memory like Jason did, he was betrayed and almost murdered. Running and getting his feet grounded to make a move on his enemy was the point to the movie, not to mess with your mind like the others.

This was really dumb. Yes the whole movie was a waist of time.
I actually like the somewhat interesting conversations going on in the movie. That was in hopes that there would be an conclusion rendered at some point. No--Not today.
Also the action scenes moved rather quickly. Through the movie, I haven't witness one set camera shot focusing on an awesome sequence of action. More of camera 25 punch, camera 26, take gun, camera 27 knock him out, camera 28 point gun at guy on ground that's knocked out. Give angry confused face.

Then there are 1000 camera shots for the chase scenes of course that leads to a scene no better than the one before.

Also at one point you thought the terminator
was chasing him through the movie but he never got a chance to release any fury. lol. What a waist of actor. Foiled by bad driving.

So over all if your going to make a movie that aims to make us dizzy. At least tell us why, and make it worth the ride.

If there is another one of these movies to be made then I wish they focus on making the main character do cool things, instead of making him try to look cool doing stuff that we'd seen better in other movies.

I guess I have a somewhat unique perspective, since I didn't actually see the first three (three of them, right?) Bourne movies, but I saw this one-

I found it very enjoyable. I'm not a huge fan of the action flick, and the final chase was a bit over-the-top-ish, but that aside, the film was decent and I have no regrets seeing it.

Sure the genetic enhancement angle is suspect and bordering on sci-fi, but this is the world we live in.

Renner did a superb job and Weisz was passable. And just a point of personal preference here, I prefer Norton cast as the protagonist rather than the antagonist. :)

The filming was meh. I prefer a crew that knows how to hold a camera still, but I understand that camera shake is the new thing.
