Movies that mean to deconstruct movies seem to be made solely by and for cinema vampires, those ghost-faced geeks whose pallor is rarely challenged by exposure to the sun.

I wont judge you for not liking the film because I havent personally seen it yet, but you should stay away from spoilers you give away a little bit more than you should have. Also, this line: "made solely by and for cinema vampires, those ghost-faced geeks whose pallor is rarely challenged by exposure to the sun" is just mean, especially when you are a movie critic, if it werent for these so-called "cinema vampires" you'd probably be out of a job...

At least you watched the movie, but you missed the point about the character's intelligence. They were not the typical horror victim dummy fodder, but they were manipulated into bad decisions over and over by the two technicians' influences. I loved the movie, as it set out to do everything it intended to do. I'll probably see it again.

You completely missed the point of the movie, and as stated previously... if it weren't for these types of movies. You wouldn't have a job. I figured you would have gotten the concept of the movie at least, but you failed to.

I think it's hilarious whenever a movie critic, whose livelihood is watching films and writing about them, talks about movie-nerds/geeks as a group they don't belong to.

Right?! If you're a movie critic and you're not a film geek then you should probably find another job?

Nah, that honor goes to Jim Lane from the Sacramento News and Review, who, from his review, clearly didn't see the movie and reviewed it based on the first half of the trailer.

You don't like Cabin in the Woods? Fine. You want to make fun of the people who made it? A little douchey, but okay. You want to make fun of film geeks? Fuck you. The tone of this article is so fucking condescending. This is exactly what I hate from some film critics, this shitty attitude that they are superior to general audiences and "fanboys" because they've seen every Tarkovsky film or something like that. It just seems really low to insult any audience, no matter the material (and yes I include Twilight fans in this).

This dude is bizarre. Most of his reviews are based on politics and his (and his employers)warped view of the world. I'm not sure he understands cinema or any of its genres. He needs to start doing his own thinking before he realizes that he has become a total sellout and it's too late to turn back. Weird.

It seems that most of the rottens are just attacks on the geek/fanboy culture surrounding the film, more than the film itself. I mean, that quote, "Movies that mean to deconstruct movies seem to be made solely by and for cinema vampires" can easily be extended to Godard or Tarantino. For decades there have been movies like this one that deconstruct other movies and pat themselves on the back for cleverness, and many are masterpieces. The makers of those films are and were also geeks. So why suddenly backlash when this movie does it?

I haven't seen this film, but I wasn't surprised when this d-bag was one of the few who didn't like it. He really stinks.

Okay you don't like the movie? That's okay! But making fun of movie geeks and you yourself a critic?!? That's just dumb sir. Very very dumb of you!

You got me at "a performance so annoying that if you multiplied 1960s Jerry Lewis by 1990s Pauly Shore, youâ??d still be only halfway there"

Your description is hilarious and so unbelievable, it must be seen.

Please, tell us more about "cinema vampires" and "geeks." Do they never get laid? Do they live in their parents' basements? Care to make some stupid remarks about comic book readers and gamers, too, you colossal douchebag?

This review felt less like a movie review and more like an exercise in being condescending. Then again, it is the New York Post and there's a reason I don't even take one when they have people at every train station in Manhattan giving them away for free. Then again. . .again, there might be a reason this paper is given away for free these days. It can't possibly be the caliber of it's "writers."

There is so much wrong with this review that I don't even want to attempt to criticize is comprehensively. However, to single out Fran Kranz, not as a highlight, but as an ANNOYING addition to the cast? It's really a shame that people like you are employed.
