Based on true events?

I wonder if it's based on true events the way "The Haunting in Connecticut" was. Drunks heard some noises. Then the noises went away. Not quite as spectacular as the movie.

Or true events like "The Strangers". Some burglars knocked on doors to see if anyone was home. Not quite as spectacular as the movie, until you mix in unrelated events and a generous helping of fancy.

I like a spooky movie though. I might have a look at this, in spite of the generic looking ghoul in the trailer.

It is based on true events although sexed up for Hollywood. Read the book House of Darkness; House of Light by Andrea Perron (eldest daughter of the couple who bought the house). I went to high school with the Perrons in the 70's and even back then there were rumors of the super-natural goings-on in the house.

In the future, I might try spamming the board with several dozen random threads with absolutely no relevance whatsoever to the movie. That should really enrich the forum.
