JUDGE DREDD writes: on Nov 26 2007 07:27 AM I had a snoop around the Gotham times one, aint got a clue what to do on there. Wheres the Riddler when you need him. Anyone know if any of these things have been solved? any new pics? The articals in the newspapers seemed interesting enough though. Be good if you could get a real copy of that newspaper with the DVDs or something, or in the cinemas. In fact, if they gave us one of those papers with evry cinema seat for the film, How many people would go see it on the big screen! I predict this will be 2008s biggest film, with Indy in a close second place. (Reply to this) |

rle4lunch writes: on Nov 26 2007 10:33 AM The weak story for Spidey 3 wasn't all Raimi's fault. He's a great director when it comes to mixing comedy/horror/sci-fi together. (Reply to this) |

Ultimale069 writes: on Nov 26 2007 11:26 AM All of that defense of Raimi is BULL; saying the producers were the ones who ruined the movie is completely laughable considering the movie was written by the the RAIMI idiot brothers. Not to mention that Spiderman 3 was the logical extension of what the first two movies offered: lame dialogue, poorly conceived villains, plotpoints, badly staged action, cheesiness that would make Chester Cheetah cringe. Batman will rock because it has everything going for it. (actors, writers, director) As long as they don't fall to the level of wanting to appease little kids with crap for taste, there is no way this movie can be bad. I trust nolan not to cop out at the end of the dark knight by having the Joker apologize for killing people saying it was because he did it for his dying daughter and that it was just the circumstance he was put in. Talk about sh*t that people eat up and call delicious- if it had been any of other movie with an ending like that, people would have torn it apart. (Reply to this) |

EdwardBlake writes: on Nov 26 2007 01:24 PM Reading between the lines, there's lots to like here. Simply put I read that Gotham Times, and all I could think of were the two of the best Batman stories ever written...Dark Knight Returns and The Long Halloween. Batman overwhelmed with many threats. A mob war, the after-effects of what Scarecrow/Ras al Ghul did to Gotham's slums, villains only drawn to crime for the intent of taking on Batman, and I am going to guess they will include a serial killer aspect like Holiday. Chris Nolan 'gets' Batman. Bravo. (Reply to this) |

TheOneStudentFilmDirector writes: on Nov 26 2007 02:12 PM I read the Gotham Times as well. Anyone who calls themselves a true fan must read this paper, it puts you in the world the Nolan's are creating for Dark Knight. I know what is going on in the city now and it will create a good back bone for everything that will happen in Dark Knight! (Reply to this) |

therereturn writes: on Nov 26 2007 02:37 PM In reply to this comment (#1307330) OK, so I'm decently excited.... but why all of the hate for Sam Raimi? Three years ago he was a geek god, and know everyone's crapping on him. Yeah, I know, Spiderman 3 was a big, smelly sack of horse dung (I actually think all three are extremely overated.) It still doesn't cover that he did the Evil Dead movies, Darkman, and A Simple Plan. Danny Elfman said it best.... he said that when he came to work on Spiderman 2 Sam had turned into a completely different person, and he lothed the entire experience because not only was he working on a crap movie but he lost a friend in the process. (Reply to this) |

Ultimale069 writes: on Nov 26 2007 03:15 PM Oh there has always been hate for Raimi, I thought he took a big dump on the spiderman series, opting for contrived, safe films instead of doing something really great. Hell the tv show for spiderman was better done. Only now are people finally wising up and seeing all of these films as the schlock they are. Hopefully they remake the films with a more realistic, modern setting ala Ultimate Spiderman. Much, much more relevant and intelligent than the original vision. (Reply to this) |
