Ash Trayer writes: on Dec 04 2007 07:22 AM Why can't they leave well enough alone with the Bat suits. Does it always need to change? (Reply to this) |

Ruckas356 writes: on Dec 04 2007 07:29 AM i think heath is going to put a good spin on the joker. he looks crazy as hell in those pics! (Reply to this) |

Merlin235 writes: on Dec 04 2007 07:41 AM These pics look more like they were screwing around on the set, then actual production shots. They are the type of pictures no one ever sees, because someone along the line has enough sense to look at them, realize how crappy they are, and burn them. And I agree Ash, the Bat suit was fine in the last movie. This one reminds me of that silver/black one they did in those 'other' Batman movies. (Reply to this) |

opTIMus Nerd writes: on Dec 04 2007 07:45 AM I think those are simple promo shots that will be used in theater promo packages, posters, cardboard cutouts and so forth. (Reply to this) |
|
Sprizmo writes: on Dec 04 2007 07:45 AM I can appreciate the suite being designed to armor our hero against bullets and such, but does it have to be so elaborate? Batman looks the coolest at his most minimalistic. He's not a freakin' borg! I dig the joker, despite his face merely being painted. (Reply to this) |

Warheart1188 writes: on Dec 04 2007 07:58 AM These are awesome! I can't believe that they're doing all of this when we're still like 7 months from the debut of the film. (Reply to this) |

Ye[ll]oW writes: on Dec 04 2007 08:07 AM so is it true that they are showing the first six minutes of the movie during the IMAX screening of "I am Legend"?!? (Reply to this) |
|
Rockslide writes: on Dec 04 2007 08:31 AM I agree with several things said here, first these are most likely "raw" images that can easily be applied to various products/posters. They would do a healthy amount of photoshopping and stylized lighting to these in the computer so it helps to have a well lit starting point. Second, I agree on Batman looking his best in the most minimal suit possible, like the Jim Lee's Hush suit. Although impractical for a movie where he's constantly being shot at, it would be cool. Da Fireman 3878 writes: on Dec 04 2007 08:38 AM Hahahaha!!! If only it could be just a little more lame. I really hope the film is filmed in very, very, very dim lighting so that I don't have to look at that ridiculous bat suit. Honestly, I hope this film bombs. I hope it bombs so badly that it makes Batman and Robin worthy of being called a masterpiece of cinema. Why? Because I am so fed up with reading about this friggin' movie. Ladies, Gentlemen, this is beyond over-hype. This is Ludicrous speed. Holy balls they've gone to....shut up this movie sucks!!! Hollywood should be renamed after my ex-girlfriend...she is a b*tch of unworldly proportions that is determined to destroy the souls of men and suck the life from all that is good. God, I hope this movie blows!! Of course I am still going to see it because I enjoyed begins (Reply to this) |

Orangecinema writes: on Dec 04 2007 08:48 AM ashtray: I'm also wishing the suit didnt always have to change, but I guess they're looking at it as an ever evolving world of crimefighting/safety precautions. As far as the pictures go, they look more like toy promos. (Reply to this) |
|
_The_Wiz_ writes: on Dec 04 2007 09:06 AM I like how Batman paints his eyelids black before putting his mask on. That's got to add at least forty-five seconds to his response time. Fireman, that actually would be pretty funny if the movie was just garbage and disappointed millions after all of this... well at least it would teach me to stop reading weekly hype for movies that don't release for another two thirds of a year. (Reply to this) |

nathanpoitras writes: on Dec 04 2007 09:18 AM The Joker looks cool, but Batman looks like a toy. I thought they learned a lesson from Batman Forever. (Reply to this) |

shortsin writes: on Dec 04 2007 09:38 AM In reply to this comment (#1327541) I think Ledger looks diabolical, even given the less than intimidating poses they had Im make. But what is with the new Batsuit, it looks like a robot or something. The only good thing about it is the fact that he can turn his head now, but other than that, too much going on. Maybe it'll look better in the film. (Reply to this) |
|
Behind The Wall writes: on Dec 04 2007 10:06 AM In that picture with the playing cards, Ledger sort of looks like my 60 year old aunt after a particularly bad weekend bender. "Come over here and give your auntie a kiss." (Reply to this) |
|
GrumpySauce writes: on Dec 04 2007 10:15 AM Not a huge fan of the new batsuit. At least it does not include nipples and a cod piece like Schumacher's abomination. Joker's looking good. The lighting is very unbecoming. Both of these characters should be shrouded in darkness, not basking in bright studio light. (Reply to this) |

dahluzz writes: on Dec 04 2007 10:17 AM In reply to this comment (#1327453) fireboy, sorry you just got dumped by some skank, but don't air out your dirty laundry here. batman can't help you with that. (Reply to this) |

Elixor writes: on Dec 04 2007 10:31 AM Love the Joker stills. I'm becoming more and more confident that this version of the Joker is going to be great. The look has been getting better with each set of pictures I come across. I agree that Batman does look more like an action figure toy than the look that most of us loved from the first movie. This is the same thing that happened with the first series, as far as the bat-suit goes. They start with something that looks great even though it's simple, but then they keep "improving" it until he's practically walking around in full plate-mail armor. My personal preference would be that he looked closer to a ninja and farther away from Robocop. Still looking forward to the movie, we still have a long time to wait. (Reply to this) |

Weicher writes: on Dec 04 2007 10:36 AM Stop discussing bull****: it's the story that counts, not some stupid photo shoots. (Reply to this) |

OperaGhost21 writes: on Dec 04 2007 10:51 AM I've enjoyed all the hype behind this film, and each new still that's revealed only adds to my appetite. However, today was the first time I was disappointed with what I saw. I loved the Joker shots, and I truly believe Ledger will deliver as the Clown Prince. Unfortunately, as many above have already stated, the new Batsuit looks horrible and smells of Joel Schumacher's versions of Batman. I don't think Nolan will disappoint, but I don't see why the suit from BB had to change. (Reply to this) |

Da Fireman 3878 writes: on Dec 04 2007 11:02 AM Hey, Dahluzz...it's Fireman not fireboy. I escaped from the dirty skank, thank God, not dumped by her. And don't worry, I would never look to Batman for help. Let's look at this one...he is a millionaire turned billionaire, he is single and lives with a young boy half his age and an old man twice his age. He has a 'secret cave' that could easily be referred to as a 'secret closet' where he keeps his 'secret identity' all locked away and warm and fuzzy. I think the only thing this 'ninja' is doing, is playing tummy sticks with his two 'roommates.' (Reply to this) |

I Am Remote writes: on Dec 04 2007 11:04 AM Now what we all know what Ledger looks like as the Joker in our sleep, anyone curious to see how Eckhart looks as TwoFace? (Reply to this) |

Snarebeast writes: on Dec 04 2007 12:19 PM OF COURSE THEY LOOK CHEESY! AND OF COURSE IT'S A WHITE BACKGROUND!! These are the images that are going to be plastered up and down toy boxes and everything promotional for this movie. They aren't meant to really be anything that reflects the actual tone of the film. (Reply to this) |

EdwardBlake writes: on Dec 04 2007 01:31 PM Newsflash about the lame poses: Chris Nolan doesn't direct promotional photoshoots. The Joker looks awesome. As for the Batsuit...the suit is supposed to change from movie to movie, comic to comic. Batman is constantly improving his tech according to his current needs. This one looks very military, akin to stuff you see commandos wear. Which is a-okay by me, it looks like Bale will be able to do a bit more fighting in that suit. i just kind of wish the bat symbol on his chest was a bit louder. Don't start with the Schumacher bat-banana talk. (Reply to this) |

harrismonkey writes: on Dec 04 2007 03:37 PM I guess they did change the bat suit. I didn't notice at first, and by the time they throw some dark moody lighting on it you may not either. They did not however change my one real complaint on the batsuit from the current movies. I hate his pie-hole sock puppet mouth. I thought the straight clean cut on the Micheal Keaton (Burton) batsuit looked much, much better. I liked the straighter eays better too- but the mouth is the big complaint. Heath Ledger- all I can say is I doubt if the scarecrow would have looked good under those lights either. (Reply to this) |

CoUcH ToMaToE DoUgIe writes: on Dec 04 2007 10:38 PM Holy mechanics, Batman! I didn't know you were half cyborg?!?! ;) But seriously folks... that suit is troubling my fan boy senses(or is that recent viewing of transformers damn you michael bay!) and honestly i have to wonder what were they thinking?! The symbol goes the Superman Returns route with the symbol shrinking to insignificance(thankfully it is not as important to bats as it was to supes). Then all the grey patches, jeez can't we keep the armor all black, please? i mean if we are going more illuminary colors for the batsuit can't we go dark blue?! i mean he has had plenty of blue, light and dark, in his costume plenty of times, i don't like how they, and most, favor the grey over the blue. i just think its ugly and oh yeah He is getting that cyborg look!! Jeez, why can't he just have the costume he has in the comics, where all his high tech armor is hidden but still known? This is probably the first dissapointment for nolan since the disaster known as katie holmes was hired. still, if the movie rocks i won't remember this snafu unlike how i did remember it after seeing superman returns. CoUcH ToMaToE DoUgIe writes: on Dec 04 2007 10:44 PM oh, and the joker looks neat but somone's got get that psycho killer some hair gell, that hair makes me laugh at him not with him. but het after a few brutal acts of evil, i'm sure i will get used to it:) and yes..I Am Remote, i am VERRRRRY curious to see if and how two face looks! still i believe we probably won't see him this movie until the end where we just witness the first sign harvey gone over to the dark side. still anything will look better than tonmmy lee's version. love jone's work but that was an all time disaster for tom. lucky for him carrey and ARH-nold costumes completely reviled peope's memories so badly that we forget him sometimes. and after the third movie, we will completely! LincolnFX writes: on Dec 08 2007 07:58 AM Seriously, what the F#$% is wrong with Warner Bros and Christopher Nolan. They did such a fantastic job at every level of marketing and creating pre-buzz with the first film. Just go ahead and release more ****ty pictures like this guys, with that and the stupid marketing hype you are doing with Perez Hilton and Devon Farachi, you are going to eliminate your hardcore followers. God this reeks of Batman & Robin. With all this and the Batsuit still looking like *** as usual, I really just don't get the film industry. You guys have the feedback to not eff things up, but you go ahead and do it anyways. I hope all this money isn't going to your head Mr. Nolan, but I guess you wouldn't know if it were. Even if the film is good, you guys are ruining it by doing to much pre-release tease crap. The joker stuff is good, but photos like this give me NO hope whatsoever. You should have just given us a better teaser trailer. The one you did give us gives us as fans no hope this is going to be anything but a steaming pile of Clooney-esque sh#t (Reply to this) |

clamman27 writes: on Dec 09 2007 09:23 PM In reply to this comment (#1339462) Oh yeah I don't know which I am waiting on more... The Dark Knight or another Hulk movie... maybe if Ang Lee did "Brokeback Hulk" I would be kind of interested out of morbid curiosity... Spidey: "All we got is this damned mountain!" Hulk: "Don't make me angry---you wouldn't like me when I'm---" Spidey: "Oh Hulk!" (Reply to this) |

DarkKnight2238 writes: on Feb 15 2008 10:41 AM Whats with all these pople being haters about the bat suit? If Bale says it helps him move around more freely, then it's better than if he had to turn his entire body to give someone a thumbs up like in Batman forever, and about the "to much hype" comments, so what??? Oh no, hype is trying to kill us ahh! Sheesh, I hope that when to time comes u'll all shut up and enjoy the good things about the movie and not sit there pointing out small problems like, "Oh no, that guy in the background, his shoe was untied, i'm leaving the theatre!"
