The Dark Knight's Character List Leaked Online?
by Jeff Giles | January 16, 2008

Summary

It's been awhile since we ran a story about The Dark Knight, we know -- but as proof that we've repented of our Bat-deficient ways, here's a doozy of an item! Back to Article

Yes! It's about *time* Man #2 got his well-deserved screen time in a good movie! I hope they do a spinoff film.... ;) Hahaha! You guys crack me up. :)

I don't get why everyone is all excited about a character list. Am I missing something?

Sal Maroni is a very interesting addition! His presence, along with Harvey Dent would imply that probably by the end of it all, you might see Dent getting acid thrown in his face, and the emergence of Two Face for the sequel!

Yes, I'm very certain that the Barbara Gordon that's being referred to here is none other than Gordon's wife! Remember, Gordon had a wife and child in the Long Halloween paperback (I recently read that)! That's the same one which ends with the emergence of Two Face!

All interesting stuff, huh? I'm pretty sure we're going to have a number of sequels for this franchise... and I hope that it maintains the quality... there's a huge mythology here to fill!

God, I hope Superman picks up and becomes better than the warped history that it shows up in the Superman Returns movie!

I can only hope and pray for some justice to be done! :-)

SHOCKIN'...this leak gave away so much info...Come on we all knew Man #1, Man #2 and Reporter #1 were all going to be on the film...they are all part of the Batman universe...it was only a matter of time...and 5 movies later for them to appear....

I think all of you are forgetting just how good Man #1 has been in his cinematic adventures. Yes i love Man #2, and the fact that he is getting respect but I think you got to feel for number 1, getting looked over just because he is in the same movie as number 2

You're right, but Man #1 is just such a generic character. He just doesn't stand out as much as Man #2. Man #2 is just too complex of a character.

Now if you wanna talk 'Detective (w/phone)', we could argue all day. I mean the man has a phone!

Barbara Gordon was in the last movie as well, check the credits, she's in the scene where Batman goes to Jim Gordon's house. Barbara was never his wife or his niece, she was always his daughter, the eventual Batgirl, but I agree she is going to be a lot younger in this film, at least pre-teens...

I'm surprised about Harley Quinn as well, I definitely thought she would be making an appearance.

Not to be a jerk, but can we stop with the Man #1 and Man #2 jokes?

I guess I am a jerk. I don't like to take away fun. But come on.

Anyone think Anthony Michael Hall may be this character known as "The Chechen" who is apparently a rival gang leader. I'm not familiar with the character name, but then again, Gamble is a new original character. AMH could also be another cop, but I doubt they would hide his character name if that was the case.

If anyone is familiar with Chechen you can fill me in.

SOOOOOO pleased that Mr. Murphy is back, atleast in a small showing, as Scarecrow. Great character and wonderfully played and understated performance which brought the more believable and real-life "this could actually happen" feel that I think makes Nolan's vision for this franchise so great. There is no campiness, just great actor's taking the roles very seriously even though they were birthed as comic book characters. Would be nice to see Scarecrow as one of those villians that never really poses a HUGE threat that Batman never really takes out, but the F'er is always popping up and causing trouble as an accessory, while never being the centerpiece villian...being caught, escaping the Asylum, causing more disturbance, being carted off again and again like in the comics. Also with all the current parallels with Scarecrow's fear toxin and the war on terror with the constant threat of chemical weapons really without intention makes his character very current and very characteristic of legitament fears in the real world today...plus he just looks creepy as hell in that noosed potatoe sack!
