The Dark Knight's Character List Leaked Online?

It's been awhile since we ran a story about The Dark Knight, we know -- but as proof that we've repented of our Bat-deficient ways, here's a doozy of an item! Back to Article

on Jan 17 2008 10:02 PM 'The Chechen' is being played by an unknown. A character actor named 'Ritchie Coster' whose work I am totally unfamiliar with. I doubt the character gets much screen time and takes a back seat to Gambol and definitely Sal Maroni (a very important character in the Batman universe.) Hall is playing a journalist named Mike Engel. I wouldn't rule out a 'Keyser Soze' moment for his character. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 17 2008 11:55 PM You know who i am really glad is in this movie. Heckler. I mean what would the Dark Knight be like if the Heckler was not in it. Whew, the chill i just got thinking about the inhumanity, and atrocity, of a movie without the heckler. Thank the Lord. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 18 2008 06:36 AM Ironically, the part of "female guest" was played by a man. I wonder who the key grip is? David Richardson? He did great work on previous films! (Reply to this) |

![]() on Jan 18 2008 10:51 PM hey, all i can say is.. who's this man# 2 agent, because i would love to get all this positive pub he gets;) Onto, the more serious things i too am happy to see maroni, scarecrow in this flick but am i the only way a bit angered to see Jim gordon's name listed below in importance to the meaningless and not comicbook-real character of rachael dawes?! i know see can't be a throw away cahracter but c'mon jim gordon is a sacred and one of the pivotal characters in the batman mythos. give him some respect, please, nolan is that too much too ask:( oh and for the record I really don't give a rat's a@@ to who anthony michael hall is playing, sorry. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Jan 18 2008 10:55 PM sorry for the typo but here are the corrections... "but am i the only ONE a bit...." & "i know SHE can't..." & " be a throw away CHARACTER..." & give him some respect NOLAN, PLEASE. Is that too much to ask? " once again i apologize for my stupidity. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 18 2008 11:06 PM Man #1 deserves a lot more credit than you people are giving him. I mean, let's be honest here, Man #2 wouldn't even have a job if it weren't for him. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 18 2008 11:11 PM Though, I've been thinking. Perhaps they hired Man #2 FIRST, taking into account all the hard work he has put into the business and then, seeing this, they thought, wait, this doesn't make sense. We can't have Man #2 without having Man #1, otherwise Man #2 would actually be Man #1. So they ended up hiring Man #1 out of necessity. If this is the case, Man #1 can thank Man #2 for this wonderful opportunity. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 19 2008 09:26 AM I think I'm the only Batman fan (used to collect the comics) who didn't like Batman Begins. Why is it every single Batman movie has to develop a love interest who he reveals his identity to ? Since when would Batman drive a tank humvee through a city destroying half the highway and buildings in the process. Flying around via some kinda hang glider cape ... rofl. The Scarecrow was horrible, he wasn't even developed. The guy is basically a ninja/detective with gadgetry who works behind the scenes. Thats the Batman I remember from the comics in all the years I collected them. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 22 2008 08:04 AM In reply to this comment (#1490318) I think many of us share your misgivings about the overlarge Batmobile, Rorshack. But I think it was a small price to pay for a brilliant vision that, at last, has paid the mythology some much needed respect. One critic wrote that Begins "wiped the smirk off of the comic book movie," and I agree. It is a fitting description for a Batman film done well. As for your comment about the Scarecrow, well, you can't expect them to fully develop every villain. Especially one cast as second or third tier. (Reply to this) |
