Anthony Lane, you are an idiot. This was his review for Dark Knight Rises:


"The story is dense, overlong, and studded with references that will make sense only to those intimate with Nolan's previous excursions into Batmanhood."

As a third movie on a trilogy (so far), of course you have to be familiar with Nolan's past excursions into Batmanhood. The story is long? You obviously don't have the mental capacity to keep with it. i.e., you're an idiot.

I get what you are saying about having watched the previous installments to comprehend the conclusion. But Lane is totally accurate saying this movie is dense and overlong. This film was the worst of the three, hands down, but one of the worst comic book films ever as well. When Bane broke Batman's back, it would have been more appropriate to kill him and then incorporate Blake as the successor. He would save Gotham, thus rising to become the dark knight. Instead we got the EXACT same story as Batman Begins... THE EXACT SAME!! Total waste of potential.

"One of the worst comic book films ever"? You spelled "best" wrong. Either that or you have clearly never seen movies like Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Superman III (and IV), Howard the Duck, Spider-Man 3, Fantastic Four...I could go on forever.

I did actually, and TDKR is pretty much in the same sinking ship as all of them. That's my opinion, accept it like I accept yours. Does it make ma statement truthful, no, does it make your statement truthful, no... but our perception of the movie is different. So again, accept it or bitch and moan like you're doing right now...

This is exactly what I said to his review. I wanted to comment on it, "You idiot! That's kind of the point of a trilogy now isn't it. When you watch the THIRD movie of a trilogy without watching the other two, it's going to make no sense at all!" Amen to you for realizing this critic is an absolute IDIOT!
