Audience Reviews for The Dark Power

Even with the help of Lash LaRue, this movie is at the Bottom of the Bucket, gives a whole new meaning to B-Movie, B for Bad. Took 50 Minutes for the first Monster to show his Hand. Now this is some college students way of making a movie that he had hoped would shin by bring in Lash LaRue who hadn't made a movie in twenty years. Should have left Old Lash with his whip at what ever bar they draged him out of. Just a bit more then one star.

B-movie horror about some ancient cult/tribe waking every thousand years to wreak havoc on an area where they died thousands of years ago. Or something. It's really crap with horrible characters and rubbish music and a whip fight! But one of the zombie monster things was pretty cool and one of the female characters was fit so y'know, at least its got a couple of things going for it!

You get 48 minutes of talk (and occasional T&A) and then FINALLY see the monsters. The pacing is horrendous, but I did enjoy the last 30 minutes as it reminded me of movies like Killer Klowns from Outer Space and The Toxic Avenger. So it's sort of like Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (another movie that takes forever to get going). I can't hate on the movie too much for as cheaply made as it is. I do love this kind of stuff, but the first 50 minutes are so incredibly difficult to sit through. It does deliver some gore, T&A, and some whip-lashing fun, so it tries, but those first 48 minutes are unforgivable.
