Yup, I finally saw it.

How can I put this into words to say that I loved it? How about the fact that Evil Dead was, in the words of Ash, GROOVY!!! I honestly can't believe that this film went beyond my expectations! There were flaws, but it was still a great horror movie and shows how horror remakes are supposed to be done!

because we just don't get that anymore in horror movies like in the 70's and 80's those real haunting terrfying horrfying scary scenes that leave you scar for life thats what i want in this horror movie because there not called horror movies for nutting its supposed to have an effect and u know when your up late and u can't sleep and your thinking about the movie all night and you can't get the images out of your head thats a sign of a great film thats what i want and we havent' gotten that since the exorcist im not saying that this movie has to be on the same level as the exorcist but can it come closeeee i hope so i wish this did for what the exorcist did in 1973

yea seriously i want this to be a genuinely scary movie i know this movie is gonna have a shit load of blood and i have no problem with that but i also hope this movie is really really scary because the number 1 thing that makes scary movies are genuiely scares and disturbing images and demons and stuff like that not jump scares and blood and gore and seriously can anybody tell me how scary mia is i still have heard nutting about how scary she was as the posseded demon i mean people loved this movie how come you hear abouslty nutting about mia then

It's scary in a suspenseful kind of way. There's not too many jump scares, but there are some there. As for the Mia thing, simply put she's really creepy. It's hard to really talk about that kind of thing because I would end up spoiling the film, which I don't do unless I'm talking to someone who's already seen it.

Was it genuinely scary or just extremely gory.... or both?

While not being the most terrifying film that I've ever seen, as the tagline suggests, the film still did have some good tricks up its sleeve and some VERY impressive visuals! Definitely the GORIEST movie I've ever seen. It was just a bunch of fun! Plus, a great post credits scene that must be seen by horror fans and ESPECIALLY Evil Dead fans!

I just got back from a screening. This was really the goriest movie you've ever seen??? I feel like it's those kinds of statements and reviews that are going to set people up for disappointment....and comments like "it's way more gory than the worst you could possibly be expecting!" All those reviews gave me very high expectations and I was expecting some unbelievably innovative and groundbreaking horrible gore....wasn't the case for me. But, hey, if those are your feelings than those are your feelings - you're entitled!! Personally, I felt like it was very violent, bloody and gory but I've ABSOLUTELY seen worse even in the Saw movies. I will say that the effects were some of the best I've seen.

I can definitely see your point of view on this Frank. I've also seen the Saw films (1-7) and I can honestly say that this was the goriest film I've ever seen, particularly the last 20 minutes of the film (not going to spoil, that's not my thing).

So yeah, it was quite scary at points. Great mood was established to make it pretty suspenseful.

I agree 100% here! What a nice surprise after reading so many reviews of people saying the movie isn't scary at all! I thought it was!

I'm glad that these comments are positive. But it's probably not going to be the goriest film I'v seen-as I've had to experience the torture porn Saw films. But I hope that it will be the most frightening, as I don't scare to easily and it's thrilling when I do.
