Yeah, yeah, I get it: "The Expendables 2" is a fun-loving throwback to the gloriously bad action films of the 1980s. Here's what I don't get: Why couldn't it be a throwback to the good ones?
Yeah, but these guys are at that age where the forgot how to act and have good dialogue. However, I don't know how emotional this film is or if it's even emotional at all. If not, then that's just weak.
There is no age where people 'forget how to act.' That's just arrogant. Clint Eastwood is still a fantastic actor (director too, obviously), and he's one of the oldest still in the game.
Why do you want so much emotion in an action movie...?
There's different genres for a reason. Film 101. I go to an action movie expecting massive amounts of awesome action, not tears and break ups. That's exactly what I got, which is why this movie was so mind-blowingly awesome.
Some people really just don't know how to have fun at the movies anymore.
Shame.
LOL oh cmon cheesey dialog is what made the action movies from the 80's awesome...I'll take a cheesey line from any and all Arnold movies or 1 from any of the Die Hard movies any day of the week
Im just gonna say that this reviewer gave magic mike 3.5 / 4. That means any credibility he may have had is lost. Its an action movie,it has a different type of explosion than he is into.
Yes. Because Magic Mike has so much to do with this film. What is wrong with people on the internet? Why do you people give such a hard shit about other people's opinions? Are you not able to enjoy this film knowing that this guy didn't like it?
What is this obsession that aggrieved commenters have with Magic MIke? "This reviewer liked Magic Mike" is regarded as some sort of criticism. The film was a very well-reviewed -- and really interesting -- Steven Soderbergh picture. If you don't like it, please explain why.
Oh, come on. One can enjoy a break a stupid buddy movie which UNDERSTANDS it's concept and does not attempt to go highbrow, no? I largely prefer upscale, highbrow movies to action flicks, but when the self-derogatory humor kicks in, the action heroes roll out and the fun gets in, you just see something which can be equated to either a frat reunion or a wrestling tournament in a retirement home. And that's WAY more enjoyable than, say, "Twilight".

Totally agree, though the end kind of sucked. If MUST watch the movie, go watch Omega Man

Watch 'The Last Man on Earth" with Vincent price. The closest to the book.

I Am Legend was barely palatable. Still bothers me that almost all of the infected ppl were CGI.

I enjoyed it. Every movie version of a book is always hated by the book lovers. I am sure the book is better, of course.
