I may be one of the few who prefers the original Swedish TV version, but Fincher does a nice job of staying faithful to the Larsson novel and infusing it with his own sense of style.
Hi James, I just watched both versions back to back and I feel very strongly and clearly that the original verison the the superior film. I felt Fincher's was lacking in so many areas. The music and sound was awful and pretentious. It moved too fast, and if I hadn't seen the original version I would have been lost as to what was going on. There were some good scenes, however, overall it didn't compare by a mile to the original.
