A lesser Don Siegel effort, The Gun Runners is the third and (as of 1998) final film version of Ernest Hemingway's To Have and Have Not. Audie Murphy stars as Sam Martin, whose Florida charter-cruise business is in dire financial straits. To make ends meet, Sam joins a band of gunrunners headed by a man named Hannagan (Eddie Albert). Neither the classic that To Have and Have Not was nor as good as The Breaking Point with John Garfield and Patricia Neal this is still a well made and decently acted version of the Hemingway story.
