I watched this movie and absolutely loved it!! So why the bad reviews? I'm fine with the pace of the movies; it allows time for better character development, and there is so much to be visually grasped and slowing the pace allows that to happen. I also feel many people and Critics alike have unfair presuppositions with this movie. They expect another Lord of the Rings, or a prequel to the Lord of the Rings. If have such presuppositions before you even watch the movie it will likely ruin the movie for you. The Hobbit has many of the same characters, but with a totally different feel. It's much more lighthearted. It's even more colorful than the LOTR, and has a much more zany feel. I feel the movie blended zany and serious very well. And the pace for the movie will do more justice for the characters in the long run. The Hobbit receives many unfair reviews because it stands in the shadow of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, when it should be viewed as a separate entity. Thoughts?
