A retread of a tale that's The Running Man meets Lord of the Flies with a dash of Twilight for tween-adoring measure.
Well, I find myself in agreement with Mr. Weber. It was long. Too long. Fortunately, I did not read to book, which, I understand, makes the plot more plausible. Overall, I liked the movie, especially the acting. But, I have this thing about believability. Having some tactical background, I found myself wincing in some scenes (somewhat like "Independence Day" when crop dusting pilots learned to fly F22's in about an hour). Near the beginning when the hovercraft went over the forest where they hid themselves, I asked myself (right or wrong), "It's a good thing that uber modern ship doesn't have infra red heat scanning devices like the helicopters do on "Cops".

Well, the hovercraft was not looking for them, it was carrying stuff for the Reaping.

I agree completely. It was...disappointing, and the romance was terribly tense and unnurtured. It was as if it was there in the beginning, but was dropped completely by the end and somehow picked up suddenly again.

I loved the ending, ARCADE FIRE is Awesome!
