this is the worst series since Twilight... only slightly better. the first movie sucked, and this one probably will be worse. not to mention, the series is also the most blatant, shameless example of plagiarism in the history of mankind.
Get out here. I love both the book and the movie :) I'm sure this movie will be just as great as the first one. Since Twilight? Man, you live in a messed up world. Your comment is invalid. Just get out of here.
I'm sorry Bill, but you're an idiot. Either that or extremely naive. No one calls Battle Royale a rip off of Lord of the Flies, even though they're similar. Every artist can't come up with entirely unique ideas, not even the best of them. Stephen King's Under the Dome is getting made into a TV series. Are you going to boycott that because it's similar to the Simpsons movie? What about any movie about vampires? Are you going to boycott those because they're similar to Dracula? Go home, Bill. No one cares what you think.
Because no self-respecting artists ever borrowed material. Except, you know, Shakespeare, every composer in the Renaissance through classical era, or anyone who recognizes that there are no new stories so get off your high horse.
Okay, can we get one thing straight here? Stop using the word "boycott". It's not a boycott if you're just deciding not to see it. Boycotting is a lot more than that so please stop using that word to describe what you're doing.
The death match concept can apply to Battle Royale, while the dystopian thing can apply to A Clockwork Orange, Escape From New York, Escape From L.A, Children of Men, Book of Eli, Brazil, Blade Runner, Dredd, The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, also Battle Royale, Soylent Green, Serenity, THX 1138, Battlefield Earth, Total Recall, RoboCop, RoboCop 2, RoboCop 3, Looper, Resident Evil, The Fifth Element, I, Robot, Surrogates, Metropolis, WALL-E, The Terminator, 9, Akira, and many more, so it technically it belonged to Fritz Lang's Metropolis because it was the earliest dystopian film (1927) and every other film I mentioned just shared it.
