@Matanuki:
I don't think your stone age reference applies; I'd hazard a guess that
stone-age people weren't so shallow or closed-minded as that.

"More propaganda. Obama who has no ideas, just alot of "hope" and "change" talk. Thinking people need not apply. Emotion only campaign. That's what liberalism is anyways. All emotion."

I consider myself politically independent, although with some clearly liberal social views, and I also tend to prefer logical arguments over emotional pleas, but I think Obama's a pretty impressive political figure. If he were just an inspirational speaker, then that wouldn't be enough, but if you read his analyses of most things, he's got a pretty rational and thoughtful take one them. And as far as suggesting that liberalism is less rational than conservatism, I'd ask this: which side tends to be less open to evidence? I've seen and voted for plenty of conservatives who seemed to be independent thinkers, but if I had to generalize, liberals tend to be more open to going against their emotions and with what objective evidence suggests is best. I know I'm totally generalizing, as there are many liberals who wouldn't know what logic was if you asked them, but still I see the overall balance tipping toward liberals.

And as far as basing the campaign on inspiring people to be hopeful and about change, what's going to be more effective: trying to do great things from the top down or inspiring the citizens to do great things, making the country better from the bottom up? That actually seems like a conservative principle to me, and I think it's great.

just because someone is well spoken and charismatic does not make them capable to lead a country.

Barack Obama is only in his position because he is black. Although he is well-spoken, he lacks any experience or credentials to warrant a presidential bid. He has been extolled by the media based on the fact that he is black.

P.S Agniyo is a naive sheep. Audacity of Hope is insanely vague idiotic rhetoric that sounds like the sayings of Lenin and Trotsky. Liberals are communists.

P.S.S Does anyone care about illegal immigration!?

When you don't like someone and you are conservative its all 'emotion'.

Books are amazing. Reading them is even better.

Ignorance tends to be overrated.

Hugs are amazing too.

I am looking forward to the documentary. Documentaries are also amazing.

aye, the guy hasn't held any office of importance yet (senator with no legislative distinctions) and they already have a documentary in the works? I understand why people like Obama, i just don't get the love affair.

I will not see this in the theaters. Ed Norton should make a documentary on someone who HAS impacted history, like hmmm... Oppenheimer, Jefferson or Polk.

IF he wins the race, and actually does what he says he will (and the countries better for it), maybe then make a documentary. Otherwise its going to end up being 2 hours of inspirational speeches and sappy hope filled interviews with no conclusive binding.
