RT on DVD & Blu-Ray: The King's Speech and Rabbit Hole

Summary

This week on home video, we've got quite a few great films to choose from. Four of the new releases are Certified Fresh, and this year's Best Picture Oscar winner is among them. The others are comprised of a hard-hitting drama that earned Nicole Kidman an Oscar nod of her own, an epic journey through the Siberian wilderness, and Sofia Coppola's latest melancholic tale of relationships. Then, we've got Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen's sequel to his recent martial arts hit and a Jack Black misfire based on a classic novel, as well as the week's new Criterion Collection releases. Gonna watch The King's Speech tonight, I'll finally see if it was worth all of the awards attention it got.

I'll check out The Way Back eventually. It actually looked pretty good. Maybe I'll finally get to see Saoirse Ronan's talent in a movie that isn't horrendous (Never again will I subject myself to a Joe Wright film).

some great comments for such a busy director such as yourself...and Im a little puzzled by the TGWTDT remake as well...

I may be in the minority, but I think King's Speech was painfully mediocre in everything BUT acting.

Everything else just seemed like pure Oscar Bait. It's almost as memorable as Invictus, with neither being good enough to encourage repeated viewings.

My opinion.

I felt the same way. I have no urge to revisit that movie, but I understand why it won the oscar - it was the safest film nominated.

I'd like to rent all of these movies, except for Gulliver's Travels. That movie was a total waste of film.

Peter Weir's The Way Back is the best movie coming out this weekend. Your welcome.
