Leather Burners is one of the best of the eight "Hopalong Cassidy" entries of 1943. Adroitly scripted by Jo Pagano and expertly directed by Joseph Henaberry (who career dated back to 1915), the film finds Hoppy (William Boyd) and his pal California (Andy Clyde) on the prowl for cattle rustlers.
