I've got a bad feeling.

It could be good, but so far it looks pretty shitty.

Everytime I see the word Disney on a live action movie...I immediately start disliking it. I dont know why.

Well, I'll take a different view than those here and say I loved the movie!! Depp played an awesome Tonto and very glad I spent the money to see it on opening night. Can't wait to own it on Blue Ray!!!

I cringe every time I see Depp's performances in the trailers so far. Tell me how is his performance in the movie actually different then other characters he's played before? I know the critics are trashing his performance, how is it different then what Im seeing in the trailers?

I am with you on this one...and I am a Johnny Depp fan. Sad thing is, he's almost becoming a parody of himself. Sort of like Christopher Walken.

could not wait for this movie. i love johnny depp and really love armie hammer, but this movie is a bunch of loud obnoxious overblown shit with absolutely no one to root for, no one to like or care about. i hated it and rate it the worst movie of the summer. so disappointing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME.

So far I've only read one good review. All the rest have been bad. Too bad really. I grew upon westerns and they're still my favorite genre.

The first time I saw the pictures in previews, the Indian clown outfit, the bum that looked like he just fell out of a box car, dirty, unshaven, the only thing clean about him, his hat, I was sure this was going to be another 1981 LR disaster. It makes that one look like an academy award contender. Wait until Disney makes a Donald Duck movie for kids that will be X rated! I totally expect that's what is coming next from the makers of the terrible thing Disney and Depp have made of an American Icon!

I'm, repeating what I posted on another thread----I think I know what happened to Jack Sparrow , he died his parrot black and he crazy glued it to his head then the bird pooped all over his face. I looks like this in the trailers to me, Instead of treating a fictional iconic Native American Hero that saved the white guys butt in all previous Lone Ranger adaptations , this movie makers have reduced Tonto to a weird version of his former self , but I will reserve judgment until I see the movie. So far , I looks disappointing.

Exactly! This movie is so clearly "market-driven" (no surprise being Disney), but it's great to see that strategy backfire so horribly, at least on a creative/artistic level. Sadly, it is likely to still make tons of money.

I think Man Of Steel and Iron Man 3 already did that, box office wise at least.

Well said, In Your Dreams. A residual reminder of a fading past. Sort of like that last stubborn bit of grime on your windows, before you get them really clean so that you can see clearly.

I do not want to see it. Never have and never will. It doesn't matter who they get to star in this film. I'd just as soon see this as I would have seen Battleship if they'd put Johnny Depp in it. Really they could have cast Gary Oldman who is one of my favorite actors and I still wouldn't want to see it.

Well, I feel for you "Star Trek Into Darkness" fans who are skeptical of "Lone Ranger." Disney really blew it. Benedict Cumberbatch would have been a real treat as LR. Imagine hearing lines like "You think you can escape from justice... you cannot." or "I will walk over your dusty corpses." Opportunity lost. Oh well.

Anyone know anyone who actually wants to see this movie? Im looking at the over 90% statistic that says over 40,000 want to see it and Im thinking are they really the public or people paid by the studios to bloat the numbers in their favor? I havent heard to many good things about this liberal slanted version of a western and Depp's portrayal of Tonto is more parody then history. I havent seen it but I have a feeling they are going to have Tonto be the "star" while the lone ranger gets to be the "sidekick". You know they are going to go with the rewritten version of indian history and make them the heroes and the whites as the bad guys. Im not going into any race talk here, just stating what I think will happen and why I wouldnt waste my time on this liberal slanted version of a classic western

Just saw the Lone Ranger at a preview and I LOVED it. It was totally different than all these after the Earth apocalypse movies so popular this summer. It was entertaining, amusing, uplifting and a fun ride. I will go back again after it opens., Good Job producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski as well as Mr. Depp

I saw an advanced screening of this and it was really good! A perfect summer blockbuster - lots of action and laughs. The story was well written. Johnny Depp, as always, gave a great performance. Armie Hammer did very well holding his owe against Depp and was quite funny, too. Going in I didn't really know what to expect, but I came out loving it! A must-see this summer.
