The Man Who Played God (1932)
In this film, George Arliss is a world-renowned pianist. An explosion renders Arliss completely deaf, but he soon becomes an expert lip-reader. Watching people in a nearby park, he learns that many people have problems worse than his own, so he secretly arranges to solve their financial and emotional crises.
