Movie Info

An orphaned 15-year-old (Brandon DeWilde) decides to gain independence as a farmer in Missouri. With support from a newspaperman (Gary Merrill) but challenges from another man (Lee Marvin), the young man eventually grows roots. The film is based on a novel by John Buress.
