Movie Info

In this film, George Sanders plays an epigrammatic Parisian journalist, who rises to the top through the "kindnesses" of the various influential women that he's seduced and abandoned. However, this 19th-century rake's progress is ultimately halted by a duel.more

Audience Reviews for The Private Affairs of Bel Ami

Sort of an interesting story, and sort of not, it's hard to say if this movie was good or bad, so I'll say it's just okay.

Super Reviewer

Watching it right now. It's a bit harsher then Dangerous Liaisons which this story reminds me of, now sure which book was written first but it's the same idea. This one has a bit more ruthlessness and more people get hurt.
