Movie Info

How could anyone not love the gosh-awful epics of the immortal Edward D. Wood Jr.? This time, future porno filmmaker Wood rips the cover off the insidious "smut" racket. Three plumpish dirty-movie models, each about as sexy as a plate of grits, are found dead....murdered...and SOMEONE'S RESPONSIBLE. Detectives Kenneth Duncan and Duke Moore set out to solve the killings, and to bring the queen of the feelthy-peecture movie empire to justice. It won't be hard to spot villainess Jean Fontaine; she writes with a quill pen and spouts some of Wood's ripest dialogue. A subplot involves impressionable youth Dino Fantini, who goes hopelessly insane by glancing at an alluring picture of Jeanne Willardson in her BVDs. Goodness only knows what effect a Sears catalogue would have upon the poor boy. The moral: pornography creates juvenile delinquency. And Ed Wood creates wretched but endearing films.more

Ed Wood-o-manes will probably get their kicks from this 1961 exploitationer.

An amusing film for those who prefer bad films over good ones.

Audience Reviews for The Sinister Urge

Only Wood's worst movie because the story is horrible. If you watch this, you will see how great his other films were. It's also on Mystery Science Theater, so I recommend going that route.

Doesn't even work as an inadvertent comedy.

A total mess of a film by the infamous Ed Wood involving an (inferred to be) illegal porn ring and the tough matron the runs it. Funny, because I am sure its the exact same as it goes on now how the treat (buy) the girls, though now its all fine and legal. Ties to the drug trade and other illicit trades are explored as well. One of the producers becomes a killer(?) because of his porn obsession. Robot friends, once again.
