Does the world need more fish out of water tales using famous cartoon characters? It's getting ridiculously boring by now. Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Smurfs, Fat Albert, etc.
Sigh...yeah, the ungodly amount of money its making can't possibly be an indicator that most everyone else on the planet likes the film...lets all be pretentious snobs and whine about how horrible it is...
At least this critic probably watched it before complaining...I'd bet pretty much anything that nobody else commenting here has actually seen it.
Seriously, why does ANY media source even waste money on film critics...they have absolutely NO idea what the average person likes, and I can't see any but the most elite thinking of snobs basing any movie going decisions on the word of one...
Seriously? Movies are expensive. I'd rather know if something is worth seeing before wasting money on it. If I'm interested and it gets bad reviews I might just wait to Netflix it.
The fact that it made money isn't an indicator of people liking it; it's just an indicator that a lot of people went to the movies to see it. Whether they liked it or not was decided AFTER they saw it, and I bet you those two sequels will bomb hard.
They won't bomb. These are children's movies, and all children loved it. I myself actually thought it was kind of funny. Any family will take their children to see a sequel.
