Critic Review - Chicago Sun-Times

There is not a trace of human emotion in it. To call the characters cardboard is to insult a useful packing material.

Great review. This movie was garbage. Uninteresting, terribly acted garbage. "To call the characters cardboard is to insult a useful packing material". Perfect way to describe it.

First Last

Very good! Finally, a reviewer with some gusto, juice, expressionism.

If you liked the one-liner, read the rest of the review. I haven't seen the Spirit, but based on the negative press, I wouldn't be surprised if Ebert's review is the most entertaining thing about it.

not quite sure if this movie is up to anything Will Eisner would envision, but I was sure making this movie sin city part 1a, was a mistake. Will Eisner was a far better story teller than that, and deserved a far better mention, than the pathetic insult from this man that has only become a character as bad as those in this movie he hates.

Can you sue a filmmaker eventhough you sat through the film in its entirety?
