Frank Miller on the big screen is like Scratchy or wasabi or a bass player -- he doesn't work on his own. He needs a partner, or some diluting ingredients, or maybe a restraining order.
I dunno...this review is suspect. I mean, the guy made a better film with someone one time, and I think that's the only reason for the semi-clever "bass player" crack. I mean, if he'd never co-directed a film before, I doubt the thought "Hmmm...Frank Miller could use a partner" would ever have entered into mind. It's silly. I mean, would McG been better with a partner on his last crappy film? Would Ed Wood have been better with a partner? Just review the film on it's own terms and leave "Sin City" out of it.
