Movie Info

In this comedy-drama, Vashti Blue (Whoopi Goldberg) is a struggling actor who takes out her frustrations via the telephone, in various accentual impersonations, by making prank calls from her apartment. Off the screen Goldberg attempted to prevent the release of this version of Telephone by filing suit, but apparently did not win the case. Many critics seem to insist she was right in doing so.more

Audience Reviews for The Telephone

½

Since the world expected a comedy, this did not do well in theatres. However, it has the tight and engrossing quality of a one act play, and is dark and clever at the same time. Nice twist at the end if someone has not already told you. Serious role for Goldberg which shows her vast range of talent and Rip Torn really brings out the best in the script.

Absolutely Amazing, go Whoopie...and the ending...that was freaiky. This movie is worth watching again just to see what you missed.
