Irrelevant. By the time she writes those new books, the fad would be long gone and the films would not be as succesful. I doubt she can cash in on it at this level again. Same with Rowling.
Also, only one more Twilight and the nightmare will be over.

Still don't get the crazy amount of hate involved here. They're on their what 5th movie now so by all rights it should have been like 7 years since you could honestly say one of these movie's ambushed you into spending your money on it. Did we really love the MTV movie awards/teen choice awards enough that their loss hurts us? It's not like these movie's are stealing money from better films. Just the opposite in fact there probably wouldn't be a Summit pictures if not for this series. No one commented on hardly any of the other new news, but 5 people had to come on here and voice their discontent with Twilight. Let the ladies have their fun is all I'm saying, if nothing else you can throw it in their faces when you want to go see the new Star Wars or Expendables or whatever Jason Statham is putting out this year.

when a pile a crap makes a ton of money, more piles of crap are produced. Mean While films that most people who complain about this movie are shelved and often never see the light of day. That is where the hate comes from. I will never say that Jason Stathom is a competent actor (unless we are having a discussion about Snatch) but because of these movies I have to hear about how amazing and Great Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are. Kind of sucks since they are not. Also if your dedicated to your lady you will sit through this shit and not act like you are doing them a huge favor! Damn it!

I really don't get that logic. Why on earth would projects that have nothing to do with Twilight get shelved? The only thing I can recall that got shelved during the Twilight craze was a remake of Near Dark (due to the producers feeling it would be too similair to Twilight) which is a good thing, as I'm sure many would agree that film did not need a remake.

I agree with Bigbrother. Hating the franchise is one thing, but the way people are acting, you'd think Stephanie Meyer had somehow physically hurt them. Okay, maybe you got suckered into forking cash over for one of the films, but as Big Brother pointed out by now I'm sure most people who hated the previous films would know better than to pay to see another Twilight film. As for what was made in its wake, well there's always something people get crazy over. If it's not vampires it's boy wizards and if it's not boy wizards it's teenage girls rebelling against a corrupt society. Every popular film whether good or bad is bound to inspire a bunch of wannabes.

In fact, I think Twilight brought a lot more good than bad. I mean think about it. If it hadn't been for Twilight, Summit probably wouldn't have lasted much longer (aside from Step Up and a couple early Nolan films, their track record at the box office was pretty poor) and then we wouldn't have gotten films like Source Code, Hurt Locker, 50/50, etc. On top of that, in this day and age any book series that can encourage a large portion of teens to read novels should be commended (heck, believe or not Twilight also encouraged a lot of people to read the classics it keeps referencing. Wuthering Heights for example sold 10,0000 copies in the wake of Eclipse, which mentioned the novel several times).

I don't hate Stephanie Meyer, I think it's awesome she was able to make so much money with her books and movies. I think it sucks for the past 5-7 years everything heavily marketing and green lit has been supernatural love triangles that studios admit are being made to appeal to â??The Twilight Crowdâ?? A Studio is first and foremost about Money. If a studio makes one piece of crap that makes a billion dollars every other studio is going to attempt to copy it will telling high risk projects they can go to hell.

In Addition, Just look how cheap Twilight has made a lot of films. Studios saw how cheaply done Twlight has been and thought "Cheap horrible effects with rush scripting and horrid actors...and this is what these films make? Fire the special effects team for The Hunger Games pronto! Get someone with special effects from 15 years ago!" Yes I realize I just quoted a fictional studio exec.

to put it basically the Supply and Demand is not skewed in my favor when films like Twilight are successful. The Demand is Tween love triangle Crap with a supernatural element so this is what is supplied. Mean while I have to wait until March (maybe pushed back to August) and HOPE that a theater with in driving distance is playing Elysium when they finally decide on a release date. Release dates decided by studios when that film can make the most money.
A film that has been finished for over a year and I have to wait to see it because they donâ??t want it to take away from the 4 screens twilight is showing. One of my top anticipated films of the year was Robot and Frank. It was not released anywhere near my home town. To bad Robot and Frank werenâ??t in love with the same dopy unattractive girl. Then maybe It would have been.

I do understand that it's not Twilights fault that the basic rules of profit and marketing are why the movies I want to see (Robot and Frank) are never shown in theaters. It's just Twilights fault this time.
