When jealous producer Gordon Dunning (Leon Ames) attempts to get in the way of actress Valerie Stanton's (Rosalind Russell) career and personal life, she murders him. When the police come to investigate, Valerie's alibi removes her from suspicion, while the blame is placed on an innocent woman.
