Hey Branden! You don't think that Ethan Hawke has a chance for his work in "Before Midnight"? For Best Actor, I mean. I thought he was incredible. Love to hear what you think.

I think Delpy has more of a chance. It could happen though. But the Best Actor race, at least saying this early in the year, seems to be very crowded already.

Chase The Lost

Chase: The Lost Trollfighter

It's way too early for this. Michael B. Jordan and Fruitvale Station may get nods for the racial premise alone.

Best Actor Update

1) Matthew McConaughey - Dallas Buyers Club
2) Chiwetel Ejiofor - Twelve Years a Slave
3) Leonardo DiCaprio - The Wolf of Wall Street

Those three as of now, imo, are the strongest candidates to get nominations. These next seven are actors that can possibly be nominated and are there competition.

4) Michael B. Jordan - Fruitvale Station
5) Tom Hanks - Captain Philips
6) Michael Fassbender - The Counselor
7) Benedict Cumberbatch - The Fifth Estate
8) Idris Elba - Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom
9) Christian Bale - American Hustle or Out of the Furnance
10) Forest Whitaker - The Butler

The Wolf of Wall Street will be Scorsese's fifth collaboration with Dicaprio. Each one of these collaborations resulted in numerous Oscar nominations including a Best Picture Win for The Departed. My guess, The Wolf wins big for Best Picture and Best Actor.

Turns out Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel is coming out in 2014, so unless its dping something likeZero Dark Thirty it won't get a nomination for this years awards at least. When is the cut off point for Awards this year?
