No, it's really not. PTA has even come out and said that he'll never make a better film than "Magnolia". I think "Punch-Drunk Love" is better as well, and "Boogie Nights" is certainly close. The man is the best working director in the business. "There Will Be Blood" is fairly close to a masterpiece, but it isn't the best Paul has to offer. Just like Kubrick, the critics fail to see the genius in his work the majority of the time. "There Will Be Blood" is the exception so far.
