His mission, kept secret even from the researchers, is to develop new sources of atomic energy, which are needed to defend his home planet, Metaluna, from its interplanetary rival, Zagon. When two of the recruits begin to suspect Exeter's true identity and motive, they attempt to escape. But before the runaways can reach safety, the aliens intervene and carry them off in a last-ditch effort to save Metaluna. [More]

...even though its increasingly camp elements have aged poorly, it deserves respect as one of the more ambitious, grandiose, and important science fiction adventures of its time. Full Review |

Pretty impressive sci-fi for 1955, a near classic.

Eye-filling sci-fi, although it's even better as the basis of 'MST3K: The Movie'

Slower-moving than it needs to be, but hardly the object of scorn MST3K would have us believe

An appalling film, but good fodder for the mocking in "Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie"

Inexplicably well-regarded, as ludicrous and simple-minded as they come

Big budget, elaborate sci-fi. Nice to look at, but rather slow.
