Critic Review - Chicago Reader

This is eminently missable, though the mosaic design of Asgard, Thor's mythical realm, is pretty cool.

Has anybody else noticed that the vast majority of unfavorable reviews for Thor are coming from older, balding men? Seriously, if you look through the reviews, -almost- everyone who didn't like Thor is on the old side.

I'm 22 and thought Thor was medicore at best. The first 1/3 was painfully boring, the special effects were nothing special, the art direction was misguided and, as much as I respect the man, Branagh clearly has no idea how to direct an action flick.
I will say I very much liked Hemsworth as Thor (and Hopkins is always a treat), but overall, I was disappointed given the accolades.

Hey Michael, what happened? I thought you were going to leave your review comments open? I'm sorry you can't process outside opinions because you're blinded by fanboyism. Speaking of your comments that I'm feeling obliged to look for flaws in you and correct them, yes I'm policing the comments section for bad eggs who have nothing positive to contribute to the site. Is that so bad compared to Thor fanboys attacking negative reviews and accusing them without any evidence whatsoever of being part of some conspiracy just because they don't like a movie about a blonde guy with a hammer? You gave Thor the highest score possible, 10, which is 3.2 points HIGHER than the average score. Meanwhile, reviews that fluctuate .8 points below the average score to rank Rotten, are attacked. I won't sit here and tell you your rating is wrong because it's so much higher than the average, because I respect opinions when it comes to something subjective like a movie review. But for you to turn around and act like it's ok for scores to fluctuate so much in the positive direction, but not a fourth that much in the negative direction, that's silly and fanboyish. This website attracts swarms of paranoid, overly defensive fanboys. Every once in a while I like to confront them with logic and see how they like it. And boy, they don't like it one bit! LMAO.
