I have my doubts about this project but with Portman on board it just received a big shot of credibility. I will watch for this a bit closer now at least.

Ya she seem's to be snobby with her script quality, so maybe this is a good sign. Or maybe Padme' is broke son!

Somebody didn't see Goya's Ghost - eh, neither did I, but I heard its supposed to be horrendous, like, Razzie nominee horrendous.

T-minus 3,2,1 until buck69 arrives to say that this is a retarded move and that marvel sucks.
Jul 14 - 08:13 AM
You jonesing for Buck all the way over into a brand new thread? Hmm...

lol, Ya where is he?? I did not see Goya's Ghost, and like you, im sure im the better for it. Wait, buck69 is prob crying over Reynolds as Hal Jordan. Two guys, a girl & Emerald City!

This is excellent news. Portman and Branagh both bring a lot of credibility to a project I was very skeptical about.

I was expecting her to be Sif. Perhaps the earlier reports of this movie taking place primarily in Asgard were inacurrate (or merely outdated). Either way, glad to hear she's aboard, I love me the Natalie.

Sounds good to me, she's always good. Besides the new Star Wars, but we know who to blame for that..Looks like it should be good, I hope..?"This is from... Mathilda."

Portman is a great asset to any movie. However, I find it more than coincidence that Thor's story is so similar to Satan's from the Bible. Arrogance bein' cast out of the Heavens... only to reside on earth. How funny.. I see where they get it from. Although I love super heroes and Thor and all that, it's utter blasphemin' horsesh!it that people always gotta create gods to worship. Ugh..

hhhhwaaaattt? Ya kinda lost me with that one. I got what you were saying about Lucifer and Thor, but then you lost me at the end. Thor was around before Vikings had ever heard of Christianity.

Man! It's official, the economy is definitely hurting everybody now.

Happy to disappoint you, YankDon Cappy Idiot Moron of Slight, but I agree with Astr0. I think this adds credibility. For the record [again], I am not pro DC nor anit Marvel. I don't read comic books. But I'm familiar with many of the characters. I like movies in this particular genre regardless of the source, as long as they're intelligent and entertaining. The negative posts that I've made about Thor are related to Brannagh's tendency to be a little pompous and bombastic; and to the fact that I can't see a character like Thor, making the transition via the Avenger's movie to the so-called real world setting that has been established in Iron Man. For me, it would be like Hercules showing-up in a Batman movie.
And I stated yesterday that I have no problem with Reynolds and the Green Lantern. I think it makes good sense, financially speaking.

I'm with Colin - would've figured that Portman would play Sif.

who's footing the bill for her acting lessons? Zach Braff can't save her this time
