This boxed set contains all three parts of Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski's THREE COLORS trilogy, RED, WHITE, and BLUE, which represent the three colors of the French flag and the French national motto. The films also represent the great Kieslowski's last as a director and do not disappoint, forming a trilogy will stand forever as one of cinema's most profound achievements. Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy is shaping up to be an admirable exercise in interconnected cinema, but for a truly transcendent experiment in this vein, it's hard to top Krzysztof Kieslowski's dazzling trio from 1993-94.

I was moved and touched by all three, and continue to ponder which is my favourite (but lately I'm thinking 'Blue.')
